Can you get hired at a job that is not hiring?

I have filled 2 job applications to turn in at 2 GameStop locations. I don't want to work there just because of the money, I like playing video games so I though working there would be great even if I get paid minimum wage, I just want to do something I like. I don't think GameStop is hiring now here in Sacramento but i would really like to work there. I have experience as a cashier and janitor as well as receptionist and customer service. What would be a way to show them I would be the right one so they consider me for a position?
