I just found an old check from my old job. Can I still cash it?

While looking through my stuff, I came about an old check, approximately a year old (to be exact). I forgot to cash it in and now I don't know what to do. Is it possible to still cash it in? What would happen if I put it through the ATM machine? The amount of the check isn't a lot, only $100. But I am currently unemployed and need the money.
