Curious question. I have a credit card with a small limit. I get rewards points for using it that can be used to get cash back, gift cards, etc. I can log in to my online banking and make a payment any time from my checking account.
So... is there anything stopping me from using the credit card for everything instead of my debit card and paying it right away? Example: I'm going to the grocery store. I'm going to buy $100 worth of groceries. Instead of using my debit card, I transfer $100 from my checking account to the card, then buy the groceries with the card. I need to pay my electric bill. $200. I just transfer $200 from my checking to the card then pay with the card. Might as well use the credit card instead and get the points, right? I get nothing for using the debit card?
Seems like there would probably be something obvious to discourage this from being done, but I'm not sure what it is. Seems like I should just transfer the money from checking to the card and use the card for literally everything and rack up the points.
