My dad got fired..what can I do to help?

He told us today that he got fired beginning of this month.. Our family has been living in the hotel/motel because we couldn't find a house..I am 19 and a freshman in college.. What can I do to help? Would it be a great idea to just finish this semester and work until everything comes back to normal?
