Im a sigle parent on one income earning about 30,000 a year. I am head of household, however I was told now that my child turned 17 this year I will no longer get the child tax credit. And to top it off since I have been claiming the highest amount possible to get the most on my checks 2 support myself and my son, this is never been an issue and I always got a few thousand dollars back. However now not only do I not get a return but my aunt is saying I may owe IRS up to $600. Is that accurate on such a small income?and my child still has two years of high school left.
Is my aunt right that i will owe the IRS so much money just cuz my son turned 17?
