There's an incident that happened at work in which I think I'm innocent but I wanted to protect myself. I've been asked to write a statement and send it to security. I did that. Next, I was called to meet with HR & Security and they interviewed me. I was alone. I was then given a writeup. How could have I protected myself in this situation? If I had involved a coworker as a witness, then their job would have been at stake. Yet, my *** got screwed. Should I have involved a lawyer? Lawyers cost $$$ and I don't know whether I should've involve them or not.
Help, I'm innocent and involved in an investigation at work.?
