Investing in index funds (UK)?

well im from britain and new to investing. im reading investing for dummies and well it seems that index funds hav e beaten mutual funds. index funds are not as volatile also. so im wondering how do i go about investing in index funds such as vanguard s&p500? im from UK. i've been on the vanuguard website but it is the us version and when i sign up it ells me all this ira's, 401k's etc. im from britain so it is isa not ira and etc. how do i go about investing in vanguard ? i mainly want to invest in anguard index funds as they seem to have the best rep for fees costs etc but i can invest in others if you tell me (i'll do some research). i have around £700 but i can get a bit more if minimum is more. How much are vanguard minimum? are there any others which i can invst like £200 minimum?


also opinion on nasdaq? are tech indexes good? are tech stocks volatile? #

please give me anymore info im open to info i want to learn!
