Why give people on benefits cash?

• low income benefits
• employee benefit administrators

I cant believe this hasn't been addressed by parliament. People on benefits get paid jsa, housing benefit, child allowance and so on directly into their bank accounts. And then what happens, they have everything the working man has, fags, beer, nights out, sky tv and so on. Surly this is a no brainer, pay their housing benefit direct and then give them food tokens and cloths tokens, this will make it harder for them to have the luxuries in life that should only be available to working people. Maybe working family's should have an id card and u need this to buy anything apart from essentials. I think this system or a similar one would encourage people to work so they could then be eligible for the nicer things in life

David h, u obviously didnt watch "on benefits and proud" last week, yes they had fags, beer, days at the pub and sky tv (only in one room though coz they had virgin in the other 2 rooms).

Also i know people who dont work and they smoke and spend more time in my local pub then i do. Please wake up and smell the coffee

Jan 409, yes i claimed jsa and housing benefit for me, my partner and son for only 2 mounths of my 12 years in full time employment, and i was laughing, when i went back to work i was £20 a week worst off and doing 50 hours a week. Obviously the people that disagree with me are the long term unemployed who live on benefits. Ive worked full time since i left school for the past 12 years and like i said i used the system for what its meant to be used for (until i found another job). I wish people on benefits would stop making out they cant afford food because this is bullsh#t.

Also just to add, if u watched benefits and proud u would have seen a couple of low lifes from liverpool who didnt have children living with them and spent their day in the pub
