Why may a restaurant close occassionally during normal business hours?

I just left one that I tried to go to Wednesday night, but was closed. I always go during normal business hours, but this is the second time it happened to this place.


It's not a huge place. Just a small Chinese place in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York.


I didn't ask anyone in there because I didn't want to seem weird (would it have been weird for me to ask, honestly?).


So why may places do this sometimes?
