Just received unsecured master card, my first card ever. Hoping to use it to improve my credit rating. Is it better to pay entire balance (avoiding interest), pay less than the full balance (allowing some interest to accrue), or does it not matter? Is there a minimum I should charge each month or can I use it just once at, say, starbuck's and then ignore the card the rest of the month? How long does it take for my good payment history to increase my credit rating?
