Closed credit card accounts in good standing remain on your credit report for at least 10 years. They still count in your FICO score, just not as much as an open, active account. There really is NO reason to remove a closed account. It's part of your history and adds to your credit.

On the other hand, if this is a defaulted account that was charged off or sent to collections, it will age off 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency (default). This is also part of your history and there is nothing you can do to remove it.
