Hey I'm 14 and want to become a lawyer. I get the top grades in my class and want to do a History degree at university, and then complete the GDL or go to law school. Can you give me some advice about what I should do in the meantime e.g:


Books I should read

Skills I need to be a lawyer and thus should develop

Extra-curriculars I should do

Work experience

Good subjects to take

Online taster courses maybe?

Sitting in at a court or something?

Hi Jo- Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your comments yet I have already researched this topic extensively on the internet. The reason I decided to ask on Yahoo answers was because through my searches most of it was targeted at sixth formers yet as I'm 14 I want to know what I can do specifically at my age. So yes thank you for telling me lawyers need to be resourceful but Yahoo answers is just a way of getting alternative opinions, consolidating what I've already found from around the internet and also getting a more personal, tailored response.
