I had an interview this past Monday with a Mortgage company. My employer told me that this job was paid hourly, had a set schedule of 9 to 6 Monday through Friday and hired me as an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR! This is completely misclassified. I should be classified as an Employer, because as an independent contractor I have to manage my own taxes, and do not get paid any benefits. Can I sue his company for compensation? I am furious that this guy is not only about to do this to myself, but to all of his other employees!!
Additional Details I did accept this position.
