Cashing a cheque in if my name is spelt wrong?

  • accounting school
  • bank transfer
  • unique identification number
My school gave me a cheque of £100 as a reward for my hard work BUT they spelt my name wrong. My name is quite unique and spelt S I U but instead they put S U I. Is it stil possible to cash it in? And by cashing it in I mean giving the bank the cheque and they giving me cash straight away. Im 16 so would I need a parent with me? Also because I dont live near a bank can I give it to my mum to cash it in for me? Say if she had my passport or something? I can use my passport for ID right?
